How to Cope with Anxiety Attacks in Life Naturally?

anxiety attacks

Physical fitness is something that anyone can maintain. What about your mental fitness, though? Do you possess mental control? No amount of exercise will produce the results you anticipate if you are not psychologically fit. It’s 10% physical and 90% mental.
Can you train your mind?
Well, I am writing this blog, especially for people who are having severe anxiety issues to help them cope with anxiety attacks with the help of my remedies, which worked well for me without any medications. In this article, let’s learn about a wide range of natural remedies that can help to cope with anxiety attacks.

Natural remedies are generally safe to use alongside more conventional medical therapies. Yet, dietary changes and some natural remedies can modify how anti-anxiety medications function. For this reason, it is crucial to speak with a doctor, who may also be able to suggest alternative natural therapies.

Being occasionally anxious is a natural aspect of life, but individuals with anxiety disorders frequently and excessively experience worry, fear, terror, and panic in ordinary circumstances. If these emotions interfere with your ability to live a regular life and keep you from doing so, they are unhealthy.
Many people have chronic stress and anxiety. The symptoms they experience include nervousness, agitation, tension, palpitations, and chest pain.

In reality, anxiety is one of the most prevalent mental health conditions according to WHO. Each year, anxiety problems impact more than 18% of adults in the United States.

An anxiety problem may sometimes result from another medical disease, such as an overactive thyroid. A precise diagnosis can guarantee that a patient gets the best care possible.
Some anxiety is a typical part of life. It’s a byproduct of living in a busy world.

However, not all anxiety is negative. It helps you weigh the dangers, keeps you organized and prepared, and alerts you to the danger. But when worry starts to occur on a daily basis, it’s essential to take action before it becomes worse.

Your quality of life may be significantly impacted by untreated anxiety. Try out the strategies below to regain control and cope with anxiety attacks.

Top 11 Ways to Cope with Anxiety Attacks: Tried & Tested

As per my personal experiences, this is how I cope with my anxiety attacks…

🟢1. Speak Your Best Affirmations

Find out or write down the affirmations that work for you.
Just stand in front of the mirror and speak those written affirmations for yourself.
This is how I cope with it; copy it if it helps you as well:
“I am calm, I am relaxed, I am fit, I am healthy, I am confident, I am smart, I am creative, I am strong, I am abundance, I could achieve anything, I am the happiest person, I am filled with energy every single day, I am growing, I feel good.
At times, it feels overwhelming, but when you practice it, you feed your mind subconsciously, which will make you feel relieved automatically.

🟢 2. Practice Deep Breathing

Relax<Loosen Your Body<Calm Yourself
Practicing this deep breathing for 5–10 minutes alone can change your life completely.
4 seconds of inhalation.
7 seconds hold.
8 seconds of exhale.
This will help you align your breathing pattern and feel relaxed.

🟢 3. Dance or Sing: Learn a New Hobby

Learning a new hobby not only diverts your mind from suffering anxiety but also grows you.
It gives a feel-good or dopamine therapy as you start learning something new.
For instance, I started learning how to play the ukulele, which helped me sing better at the same time. Which truly astonished and pleased me. Taking up a new recreational activity encourages self-exploration and helps to cope with anxiety attacks.
That’s the reason I respect music a lot.
All the art forms give us the opportunity to heal our souls.
So, at least make one art your hobby.

🟢 4. Steam Therapy

In your worst conditions, steam therapies are the best reliever to keep your disturbed breathing patterns on track. Simply take out your steam inhaler, which you use for colds or sinus problems, and inhale until your anxiety feelings subside. According to studies, inhaling steam reduces cortisol levels, which are a hormone linked to stress and anxiety. This makes you feel more at ease by lowering the level of the stress hormone cortisol in your body.

🟢 5. Share & Accept What You Feel

There’s a myth that you should avoid situations that make you anxious. But that’s not the truth. Avoidance may make your anxiety worse. Thus sharing it with your close ones limits the worsening of your anxiety attacks. Perhaps you have also noticed that when you keep something inside, it troubles you more. And when you discuss it with a trustworthy individual, your anxiety decreases and you might even get the solution. Because of this, there is a proverb that goes, “Sharing is caring”.
I also made a mistake earlier by keeping my worries inside me and not sharing them with anyone, but now I always share them with my one or two trustworthy people to cope with anxiety attacks.

🟢 6. Exercise

Exercise at least three to four days a week. Not so intensive, but in moderation. Choose whatever type of workout you prefer—outdoor or indoor workouts—yoga and meditation, gymming, swimming, running, cycling, etc. Even a 10-minute walk outside in nature or a park can lift your spirits same as a 45-minute workout.

🟢 7. Quality Sleep – Cope With Anxiety Attacks

Have you ever heard about power naps?
According to researchers, 10 to 20 minutes of power naps in a day will make you refreshed, more energized, and more focused on your work. Also, 6-7 hours of daily night sleep will keep your anxieties at bay. I’ve noticed it whenever I slept late or I was suffering from insomnia I faced more anxiety the next day. Lack of sleep increases cortisol(steroid hormone), which can then increase anxiety.

🟢 8. Travel-Spend Some Time In Nature

Nature naturally heals our souls. Travelling to natural places and socializing and reconnecting with nature is one of the best anxiety and stress busters. In the era of indoors and the internet, it is really necessary to reconnect with nature from time to time. Simply taking a morning or evening sunshine walk can lessen your anxiety probability. A trip to the mountains or the seaside where you engage in social and adventurous activities would work wonders to cope with anxiety attacks.

🟢 9. Gratitude-Cope With Anxiety Attacks

Always be grateful for the things around you. Just imagine you’re sitting in your workspace. Instead of all the negative thoughts, start appreciating every minor thing around you, like, “I love my office chair; it makes me comfortable; the internet speed is optimum; I love and enjoy my work, etc. And trust me, it will shift your low-vibe energy to a high-vibe.

🟢 10. Follow Proper Diet

As everyone says, healthy eating is important for overall physical and mental fitness.
Eating a lot of junk food can fluctuate your blood sugar levels, which triggers anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia.
These are the foods that I avoid to avoid putting myself under anxiety and stress:
Coffee
Alcohol
Carbonated Drinks
Processed Foods
The best anxiety-relieving food for me is nothing but a small cube of >50% dark chocolate.

🟢 11. Listen to podcasts or calm music

Listening to podcasts or calm and soothing music has always been one of my favorite anxiety healers.
Turn on any music app and listen to motivational podcasts, sleep podcasts or music, and nature music.
Listen to whatever keeps your anxiety at bay and diverts your mind.
Music is therapy.
